Connect dock to Wi-Fi

If a dock light is blinking yellow, use LENA's Wi-Fi Connector app to pair the dock to Wi-Fi

Leer en español

The LENA dock automatically connects to the internet via its built-in cellular modem.

If a cellular connection is unavailable or too slow, the dock can use Wi-Fi instead. To establish a Wi-Fi connection, you will need:

✅ An Apple or Android phone or tablet with Wi-Fi enabled
✅ The LENA Wi-Fi Connector app
✅ The exact network name (SSID) and password of an available Wi-Fi network

IMPORTANT: If your dock light is RED, stop and contact LENA directly using the "Submit Help" request at the very bottom of this page.

Connecting your dock to Wi-Fi

  1. Install the LENA Wi-Fi Connector app on a compatible Apple or Android phone or tablet.

  2. Open the app and follow the pairing instructions.

  3. A solid green light indicates the dock is successfully connected.

  4. You can also access instructions using the QR code included with your dock. lena.org/teacher-support/

Tips

👉 If you have multiple docks, repeat this process for each dock.

👉 Network names and passwords are case-sensitive. Enter them carefully.

👉 The app uses your mobile device to send Wi‑Fi information to the dock. Once connected, your phone or tablet will disconnect from the dock.

Disconnect from Wi-Fi

  1. Unpair: Press and hold dock button for 30 seconds to remove the current Wi‑Fi connection.

  2. Wait: Allow the dock to restart. It will show a blue light for several minutes before changing to:
    • Solid green = connected to cellular service
    • Blinking yellow = offline

Change to a different Wi-Fi network

  1. Disconnect from Wi-Fi using the steps above.

  2. Connect to the new Wi‑Fi network using the LENA Connector app.

Wi-Fi FAQ and Troubleshooting

Can I connect the dock to a hotspot or Mi-Fi device?

Yes, but we do not recommend it.

  • The dock already includes a cellular modem that automatically connects to the strongest available signal in your location.

  • Large uploads, such as LENA Day recordings, may use significant mobile data. Your hotspot plan may have data limits or reduced speeds after reaching usage thresholds.

What if the connection attempt fails?

If the dock returns to a blinking yellow light:

  • Unplug the dock.

  • Wait a few seconds, then plug it back in.

  • Allow up to five minutes for the dock to restart.

  • When the light changes from blue to either solid green or blinking yellow, try configuring the Wi-Fi via the app a

  • gain.

  • Verify that the network name and password were entered exactly as provided.

If I unplug the dock, will I need to reconnect it to Wi‑Fi?

No. The dock remembers its Wi‑Fi settings and automatically reconnects when powered on.

What if the center's internet or Wi-Fi goes out?

The dock will reconnect automatically when service is restored, provided the network name and password have not changed.

What if the Wi-Fi password changes?

The dock will no longer be able to connect. Follow the steps above to connect it to the network again using the updated password.
