Consent process and forms for families
After teachers download the LENA App and complete Orientation, it's time to complete the consent process with families.
Site managers should edit and print enough consent forms for each child in each classroom. Ideally, ALL children in the classroom participate, but some families may decide not to. The more children participating, the more representative and helpful the data will be for teachers.
These forms allow families to “opt out” if they do not want their child to participate. If you need an “opt in” version, see below. Choose the option below that works best for you.

Tips:
🗓️Make a note of when the consent forms are distributed. Ensure families have enough time to review and ask questions.
🗨️We encourage checking in with families at least once after providing the form to make sure they don’t have concerns. If they have more questions, you can review the LENA Grow FAQs with them.
📝After 3 days, if a form has NOT been returned for a child, teachers may enroll the child in the LENA App.
