When to move a child
- Move the child in LENA Online before starting the LENA Day.
- When the child's name appears on the new group's dock, he can have a LENA Day.
How to move a child
Whether mid-sequence or starting a new sequence, add the child to the group he will record in.
- Search for the new child, using just the first or last name.
- Select the correct child in the search results.
- Click Continue to add the child to the new group.
What happens to the original group?
- Child list: Name is grayed out in the original group, and an icon shows the child has moved on.
Exception: If the child never recorded in the original group, the child is completely removed. - Reports: Data collected while in the original group stays on the original reports. Future data counts toward the new group's reports.
- Devices: If the child had an assigned device, the old group's dock will unassign it. The new group's dock will assign an available device.

Email support@lena.org with the child's ID, the date of the recording, and the name of the group where the child was physically present on that date, and we'll fix it.
