1. LENA Technology Basics (2 min)
LENA Grow uses special technology to capture and analyze classroom language environments. The graphic below shows how LENA technology is used each week during the LENA Feedback Cycle.
| A. The LENA device is a small, wearable, child-safe recorder. Worn each LENA Day, the device captures talk interactions between adults and children. |  |
| B. After the LENA Day is completed, staff use LENA Hub software to move the device contents to the cloud for analysis. This is known as “processing” the devices. |  |
| C. On the day after processing, data reports are available in LENA Online, the web portal used to manage the program. Coaches print or email these reports for review during each coaching session. |  |
