For partners who own their devices: At the end of a sequence, follow these steps to close your group. If continuing from Grow 1 to Grow 2, you can use this process to quickly set up the Grow 2 group.

Complete the following tasks before closing a group:
- Process all devices that contain data for this group. Do not close the group while they are still doing a LENA Day.
- Find out if these children are finished using these devices or they will use these devices in another sequence right away.
1. On the group's screen, click the Close Group button.
2. Answer closeout questions.
3. Certify teachers who met stated requirements.
The certification option is unavailable after the group is closed.
4. If this is a Grow 1 group, choose whether to continue to Grow 2.

If the group is continuing to Grow 2 right away, click Yes, continue to convert the group.
- All children, device assignments, teachers, coaches, and room profile will be placed in a new Grow 2 group with the same name.
- You can manually remove children, teachers, etc. from the new group as needed. In other words, if most of the children and teachers are continuing, this is still the right choice.
Important: Be sure to convert the group before the first day of Grow 2 Insights! A child's recording goes to the group he or she was associated with on the day of the recording.

If the group is finished or is taking a substantial break during which other children will use the devices, click No, just close the group.
- All devices will be unassigned, making them available for other children to use.
5. Click Close Group.
The group moves to the Closed Groups Dashboard, where you can still view and print the data.FAQs About Closing a LENA Grow Group
When should I close out a LENA Grow group?
For Grow 1 Essentials and Grow 2 Insights, Session Prep prompts the coach to close the LENA Grow group just before the final coaching session.
For a Flex group, close the group whenever you have met your data collection objectives.
Who is responsible for closing out a LENA Grow group?
Typically the coach closes the group while preparing for the final coaching session.
What do I do if my group stopped without completing the planned number of LENA Days?
The group closeout button and form are available any time after the first LENA Day.
Can I reopen a group after closing it?
No. If you’ve accidentally closed a group and need help, please contact suppport@LENA.org.
My group decided not to participate in LENA Grow and never did a LENA Day. How can I close this group?
A group with no LENA Days should be deleted instead of being closed. Please contact support@LENA.org for assistance.
