Consent and Enroll Families
LENA Grow consent forms, process overview, and tips to increase enrollment
A site is ready, classrooms have been identified, and teachers are getting oriented to LENA Grow. Now it is time to enroll families.
1. Distribute Consent Forms

👉 Modify as needed comply with any legal requirements your organization may be subject to. - Distribute forms to site at Orientation.
- Teachers and/or Center Directors distribute to families.
💡Tips for educators to maximize family interest before and during the consent period:
- Post the Family Recruitment flyer English | Spanish on a school or classroom bulletin board.
- Share the Family Webpage English | Spanish in a weekly newsletter or app communication.
- Share the Our LENA Day story with families.
- Encourage teachers to to discuss the program with families during pick-up or drop-off.
- If the timing is right, Use Introducing LENA Grow to Families English | Spanish during back-to-school night or parent-teacher conferences, and/or include the consent form in the beginning-of-year packet.
2. Gather Child Information
- Follow up with site after the consent/enrollment period (typically 3 days).
- Ask site to provide a list of consented children in each classroom including first name, last name or initial, and date of birth. These are required for enrollment.
💡 Having the required information in a spreadsheet makes LENA Online data entry easy!
3. Now you are ready to...

The standard consent form template is opt-out. It assumes all children will participate in LENA Grow, unless a family returns it stating they do NOT want their child to participate. If required by your organization, opt-in templates are available:
