How to Implement LENA Grow Sequences
Program Managers plan out the seasonal schedule for the first year of LENA Grow in
Planning for LENA Grow. The five-session sequences can be delivered in a variety of ways. For example:
-
One sequence per year. Sites conduct LENA Grow 1 the first year. The next year, returning teachers at each site complete Grow 2, while new teachers complete Grow 1.
- Two sequences per year. Conduct LENA Grow 1, take a break, then go deeper with LENA Grow 2, all in the same academic year. In the following academic year, repeat with new teachers. Continuing teachers can participate again with new children, or mentor new teachers, or choose their own focus area.
🔎 Many years of LENA Grow data show that with just five LENA Days, LENA Grow has a significant impact on the amount of talk children across all age levels experience. With 10 LENA Days, the impact is even greater.
