Training Requirements by Role
Prior to running a LENA Grow sequence, Program Managers and Coaches must complete online coursework participate in the LENA Grow Live interactive, web-based training. The LENA Grow Training page outlines the specific course requirements.
Programs may optionally recommend select online courses to center directors and those assisting with processing to support their understanding of the program.
Become a LENA Trained Coach
In order to facilitate LENA Grow with fidelity, coaches must complete the prerequisite coursework, attend the full live online training, and earn a score of at least 80% on the Coach Quiz. (Quiz link is sent upon completion of the live online training. Quiz can be taken as many times as needed.)
LENA Trained Coach Professional Development Credits
The following states offer PD credits for LENA Grow coaches.
Ohio
The LENA Grow Coach training is approved for 4.5 train-the-trainer hours in the Ohio Professional Registry. Coach PD Approval Steps:
- Agency emails LENA to let us know coach(es) completed training and quiz and provide their OPIN number(s).
- LENA adds the coach(es) to the system and approves the training.
