What to do if you are unable to save changes to settings on Hub.
The error "Settings update failed. Please try again" sometimes happens if the very first person to open LENA Hub after it was installed had special Windows permissions – for example, if IT installed Hub and opened it to verify it works. The computer may decide that only that person is allowed to make changes to Hub's settings files.
The fix is simple, but often requires IT's help. You can try it first and then pass it along to IT if necessary, or you can just send these steps to the person/team who manages installations on the computer:
-
Close Hub.
-
Using File Explorer, go into C:\ProgramData\LENAHub.
-
Often ProgramData is a hidden folder, so you may need to change the view options in File Explorer to get there (or just type the path in the address bar).
-
-
Delete the two configuration files: system.properties and user.properties
-
Have a regular Windows user re-open Hub.
-
This step re-creates the default version of the files that you deleted in the previous step. Creating the settings files under a regular Windows account ensures that they will be editable by regular Windows users.
