Troubleshooting: Can't Log In on LENA Hub
How to assess and resolve problems logging into LENA Hub.
LENA Hub does not require a login if it was installed for use with LENA Grow after summer 2024. The problem is most likely one of the following:
-
Not actually using LENA Hub
-
An old Hub installation - settings need changing
-
Not a true login issue
Use this article to determine the cause of the login issue and next steps.
1. Check that you have opened LENA Hub.
You may have accidentally gone to the LENA Online website, which does require login, and does not process devices.
To use LENA Hub, click the LENA Hub icon on your computer's desktop screen.
If you do not have this icon, you do not have LENA Hub yet. Contact your IT support person for help installing LENA Hub.
The window that is requesting a username and password is probably part of the installer. You can be sure of this if the window mentions "user account control" or appears right after requesting permission to "make changes to your computer." Your IT support person needs to enter their Windows password on your computer to allow installation to finish.
2. If on Hub, check the type of error.
The problem could be old login settings or something unrelated.
Old settings require login
A computer with Hub installed before summer 2024 likely has the original setting that required login. It will show this "authentication failed" screen when the wrong credentials are entered:

Your settings need an update to disable the login requirement. Contact support@lena.org for help.
Device Service problem
If you see a warning about the device service, this is not a login issue. Please see this article for next steps.

Something else?
If the login problem seems to be something not described in this article, send a screenshot to support@lena.org. We'll help sort it out.
